The always exquisite Hokkaido native, Eir Aoi is back with a highly energetic new single, fully cement herself as one of J-Pop's most promising new artists. When she burst on the scene in 2011, her quick rise to fame from the pages of Nico Nico Douga was so quick, that I wasn't sure she would have much staying power. It's three years later now, and her newest single, IGNITE continues her collaboration with the popular series, Sword Art Online.
The new song is bigger than a lot of her previous efforts, representing her in a way more confident, and forward manner. The track is perfect for the summer, with all the drama you need for a hit anime theme song. I'm looking forward to seeing where she goes from here, but would love to hear some soft ballads from her soon!
