PARASYTE -- What if it Were More Like the Manga?

You'd expect visual sensibilities to change a smidge over 20 odd years, no? Like JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE, PARASYTE THE MAXIM is a contemporary anime that's based on manga that's over a couple decades old, now. However, while Studio David stayed pretty quite true to Araki's designs when adapting JOJO'S, Madhouse took a bit of creative license with the cast of PARASYTE. One could only wonder how the show might look if they stayed truer...

Actually, none of us have to wonder. A more proactive fan went ahead and redid the shows intro, replacing the updated character designs with the originals. The effect is... marginally different, to be honest, but otaku are nothing if not detail-concerned.

Some of you have suggested that the show might actually be suffering a little from staying too close to the source material - - that the high school setting might've seemed fresh in the 80's, but it's not a bit generic in a field where many other shows are set in school. Myself, I'd prefer they take more creatie license, too. The fact that Shinichi continues to attend school like nothing's changed, despite the numerous on-campus battles that've happened, suggests a story crew who isn't scrutinizing the original plot as much as they should. Can we see some fan do that re-edit, please?
