Gurren Lagann stage play hitting Tokyo in October

Just who the hell do you think Kamina is? Do you think he'd star in a Gurren Lagann stage play adaptation? I think he'd want that, don't you? Good thing, because Office Endless announced plans for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann -Engeki-hen-, to be held in Tokyo's Zenrosai Hall Space Zero theater in late October.

Scripted by musician and actor IZAM, the stage play is set to showcase new material that "wasn't able to be presented" in the anime series, and the Gurren Lagann -Engeki-hen- Production Committee is working with Gainax to make this play the best it can be. But to put on a play, you need actors, and there's one concerning thing about this show that bugs me: they're scouting actors via open auditions, regardless of acting experience. Men between 18 and 35 years old and women between 18 and 30 years old are welcome to apply, and perhaps this could unearth new talent, but why not cast it with established actors? Bizarre.

Check out the show's Facebook and Twitter accounts for updates and whatnot, but mostly let's all laugh at how familiar Gurren Lagann characters may look on stage and if this show is going to be a musical or not. That would be pretty hilarious.
