There's a few things in anime that you can always count on. Son Goku ages slower than any living being in the universe, people will forever mispronounce Kaneda, and One Piece will bring the heat with their musical offerings. While I still check in on the show from time-to-time, and enjoy the movies, I don't have it in me to watch Eiichiro Oda's long running One Piece anime series. I do however, make it a point to check out the show's latest musical contributions.
Now on their 17th opening song, the anime is going stronger than ever. The band AAA is back with another contribution to the universe with their track Wake up! The track premiered on the 629th episode of show, and is a follow up to the band's previous cover of We Are! Man, 629 episodes... Do you it's even remotely possible to marathon the series from the beginning at this point?
The track is a pretty cheesy, happy number. I can't say I love it, but like many anime opening themes, it might grow on me from continuous exposure. Anime openings tend to hold a special place when the show is great during the period, as just hearing them would get me amped up to watch. I'll have to report back later to see if this holds true. However, AAA seem to be some really corny folks. I'd probably have a hard time even being in the same room as them.
