Man, I totally had no idea this was happening. Somehow I totally missed the news that there was a new OVA series coming out about some back story about our favorite Gundam characters. First up is the ever mysterious and charming Char Aznable in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin I: The Blue-Eyed Casval.
Born as Casval Rem Deikun, Char Aznable made his anime debut all the back in 1979, yet continues to be one of the most popular icons in anime, despite the characters demise in 1988's Mobile Suite Gundam: Char's Counterattack --which happens to be one of my all time favorite films. Above is the old trailer which debuted earlier this year, but a new one should be posting sometime today. The official site announced the voice cast as well as the theatrical run, which will start February 28th in Japan. Lucky Japanese fans will be able to pick up tickets at Lawsons in two weeks, as well as a "making of" video.
