I like to collect strange ice molds. I've got some shaped like Tetris pieces, Space Invaders, the symbol for Pi and many more. A new one that popped up in our inbox was this mold for Mt. Fuji. Designed for whisky aficionados, the mold is designed to shape a block of ice into the famous mountain and to be dropped into the proper glass. Simple, no muss, no fuss, just fill the mold, freeze it for a couple of hours then use. Seems like it'll make a nice addition to the collection. It goes on sale through Bruno's online shop for ¥1,296 this June.
As I've gotten older, one of the things I've gotten into is drinking whisky. I never really understood it before, but now I get why people obsess about particular brands. If I'm trying to enjoy the flavor of the drink, I'll add some ice to water down the drink over time. A huge hunk of ice like this may be a bit much, but I suppose that depends on the size of the glass I'm pouring into. Also, it depends if I'm planning on being mobile anytime soon. Any glass that I'd put Mt. Fuji in would likely be too large to consider serious movement afterward.
